Safelite is looking for a corporate counsel attorney to join its in-house legal team. This position will collaborate with teams and entities across the company to provide advice on a wide range of legal matters, including commercial contracts and transactions, compliance, employment, privacy, and general corporate matters. The legal team supports all aspects of the company's business operations, including commercial relationships, intellectual property, real estate, employment, litigation, legislative affairs and strategic activities; (ii) acts as a legal advisor to assigned internal clients (including the range of company businesses and functions), (iii) identifies legal risk and recommends solutions that help address the business’ objectives, and (iv) represents company in transactions, interactions or disputes with customers, suppliers, partners, and competitors. The ideal candidate will be excited about the opportunity to (a) learn all aspects of Safelite’s business, (b) handle a wide range of legal and transactional matters, and (c) finding practical solutions to address a variety of business and legal challenges.
 
What You'll Do:
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the business by engaging closely with the legal team members and business leaders to provide practical legal advice and support on a variety of legal topics.
  • Draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of contracts including supply chain agreements, real estate agreements, LOIs, licensing agreements, master service agreements, SaaS, and IT agreements.
  • Support on corporate governance matters, including drafting board resolutions, bylaws, operating agreements, articles of association and advising on board appointments, corporate entity restructuring activity and corporate governance best practices.
  • Manage and support legal disputes and litigation, including supplier and customer disputes.
  • Collaborate with regional and global cross functional teams including sales, procurement, human resources, IT, and finance as well as various business functions at every level of the organization.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the legal team’s processes, including development of and updates to standard form agreements and templates, to facilitate business growth and expansion.
 
What You'll Need:
  • Juris Doctorate or JD-equivalent from an accredited law school required
  • Bar membership in good standing
  • Demonstrated history of working with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and changing demands
  • Ability to manage a range of legal matters
  • Excellent business partnering skills
  • Strong communication, organizational, drafting and negotiating skills
  • Excellent team player with high IQ and EQ
  • Previous in-house counsel experience preferred but not required
